Relaxation Guide and Affirmation for Medical Students on Clerkships

Relaxation & AffirmationBelow is a relaxation script that incorporates affirmations for feeling competent on clerkships. You can read this into a tape recorder, cell phone or computer and play it back as a relaxation tape. Read the script slowly using a soft voice. Leave several seconds (5-10”) between each block of words.

Use this along with your progressive muscle relaxation to manage any stress related to clerkships. This can easily be adapted for Year 1 and 2. It is also very nice to play some soft acoustic background music while you read the script into your recorder.
